Nick grew up in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Biological Sciences with minors in French, and History; and a certificate in environmental justice. After college, Nick joined an AmeriCorps VISTA program with South Dakota State University Extension, where he served in support of community food systems with the Oglala Lakota tribe on Pine Ridge Reservation. Then, he served as an AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps Team Leader at the Southwest Campus in Colorado. During his service with NCCC, Nick was introduced to ACSTL while serving on a project with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources at Ozark Mountain State Park.

After graduating from NCCC, Nick’s National Service journey led him back to St. Louis when he joined AmeriCorps St. Louis as a Member for the 2020-2021 program year. Shortly after finishing his term of service, he joined our program as a staff member.

“It is such an honor to join AmeriCorps St. Louis’ team as the Program Manager. As a member, I found this community’s dedication to service and conservation inspiring. I am excited for the opportunity to expand on our legacy and continue developing the next generation of leaders while caring for our natural communities.”

One of Nick’s favorite outdoor hobbies is birdwatching. In between migration seasons, Nick enjoys bonfires with friends, writing fictional short stories, and dreaming of his future garden.
