AmeriCorps Members are living examples of service and dedication. They fight fires, respond to disasters, and enhance environmental areas. You may not wear the boots on the ground, but your support is equally critical in propelling this mission forward.

According to the EPA, Americans, on average, spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. Our Members spend the majority of their service term outside improving parks and trails.

Celebrating this service, we invite you to join the AmeriCorps community outside this spring. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just starting an active routine, this challenge is a perfect reason to Get Out!

Since then, she has gone on to a long career in the wildland fire community, holding various positions with the US Forest Service, and now works to train and advocate for others in the field.

WASHINGTON, DC – AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, recognized four AmeriCorps members and two grantees in the State and National program for their excellence in service. Each year, AmeriCorps State and National recognizes programs and individuals for the Excellence in AmeriCorps Award that consistently supports its mission in the following categories: Impactful Service Award, Inclusive Service Award, Innovative Service Award and Lifetime of Service Award.

In mid June, we deployed two Members - Ellis and Dade- to Rolling Fork, Mississippi to help with long term recovery efforts following an EF-4 tornado that devastated the town. Ellis recaps what they have been up to this summer!
