Southeast Missouri Floods

On May 9, 2011 the President declared a major disaster for Missouri (DR 1980) in response to severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding beginning on April 19, 2011.  In Mississippi County, the Birds Point levee was blown to protect the city of Cairo, Il but in turn flooded over 130,000 acres of farmland. Twenty-Five counties in Southeast Missouri were affected by flooding last year. Much of this area was home to low-income residents that need your help to recover from these waters

Get Involved

(11/30/2012) There is a still large need for Volunteers in Southeast Missouri after the 2011 floods.  Work is needed to finish up roofing jobs before the winter weather rolls in.  A construction manager is in place to coordinate and lead volunteer teams.
