St. Louis Serves Day 2012
About
Over the years, many St. Louis non-profits have turned to AmeriCorps St. Louis for capacity building assistance, but our members are committed day to day. To help meet the need, AmeriCorps St. Louis created St. Louis Serves Day by dedicating Global Youth Service Day, held each April, to recruiting volunteers to answer the community’s requests for help with a range of done-in-a-day projects.

In 2011, the AmeriCorps St. Louis Coordinated Service Team partnered with the United Way and the City of St. Louis Office of Mayor Francis Slay to complete 22 projects around the city. Our 2011 volunteers participated in beautification and maintenance projects at several SLPS elementary schools, the Kinloch Learning Center, Earth Dance, America S.C.O.R.E.S., Father Dickson’s Cemetery and the International Institute. They also helped with projects at the Crisis Nursery of St. Louis, KidSmart and Haven of Grace Mom’s Day Out.
